Project created with Seth Vogel
This project was a submission for the American College of Healthcare Architects Student Design Competition. The project is framed to address the health and healthcare needs of rural, medically underserved communities by designing a Critical Access Hospital, with special emphasis placed on innovation and design.
To meet the criteria of a Critical Access Hospital, the facility needs to maintain no more than 25 inpatient beds, be over 35 miles from the nearest hospital, maintain an annual average length of stay of 96 hours or less per patient, and provide 24/7 emergency care services.
